On this episode we are inspired by the new release UNBROKEN to look at military movies that are survival stories, and how war, specifically how war is portrayed on film, has changed with the times. From the somewhat cordial but surprisingly dark gut punch of 1963’s THE GREAT ESCAPE to the very dark but surprisingly optimistic lead played by Christian Bale in 2006’s RESCUE DAWN.
