Ep. 88 - Foxcatcher (Game 6 vs. Big Fan)

On this episode we take a look at comedians being creepy at sports, inspired by Steve Carell’s transformation from Michael Scott in The Office to John du Pont in the new release FOXCATCHER. Then we immediately look at one of Carell’s competitors for various Best Actor prizes this year in GAME 6 where Michael Keaton plays an increasingly unhinged Red Sox fan. But not to be outdone in the rivalry between Boston and New York, Patton Oswalt finishes off our triple feature as a rage-filled Giants fan in BIG FAN.

Ep. 87 - The Gambler (Rounders vs. Owning Mahowny)

On this episode we get addicted to gambling with Edward Norton as the degenerate card cheat in ROUNDERS, and Philip Seymour Hoffman who loves him some ribs with no sauce, a Coke, and blowing other people’s money (but NOT Minnie Driver) in OWNING MAHOWNY. All of this inspired by Mark Wahlberg lecturing us as a college professor (yes, you read that right) in the new release THE GAMBLER.

GUEST: Jario from the True Bromance Film Podcast becomes the official costume design critic of our show.

Ep. 86 - The Interview (The Manchurian Candidate vs. The Day of The Jackal)

On this episode we play a little bit of the blame game, do some time traveling, and oh yeah, fit in some political assassination. All of this inspired by the guys from PINEAPPLE EXPRESS as we finally get around to releasing our episode for THE INTERVIEW, kind of like the various VOD services late to the party. And with that international crisis settled, Matthew Price of the MAMO! podcast joins us for our discussion of two older films about the methods of political assassination with THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE vs. THE DAY OF THE JACKAL.

Ep. 85 - Citizenfour (The Insider vs. The Informant!)

New release CITIZENFOUR inspires us to leak some secrets with Shaun from the No, Totally movie podcast, such as the excellence that Michael Mann and Steven Soderbergh provide with their films on whistleblowers in 1999's THE INSIDER and 2009's THE INFORMANT. If that isn't juicy enough for our listeners we also attempt to remake the story of Jeffrey Wigand as a sequel to a certain John Woo movie.

Ep. 84 - The Galapagos Affair: Satan Came To Eden (The Mosquito Coast vs. The Beach)

In this episode we lose podcast paradise, but we do get to talk to the directors of THE GALAPAGOS AFFAIR: SATAN CAME TO EDEN, Dan Geller & Dayna Goldfine, about editing and casting their great documentary. And because we are relentless in our search for cinematic paradise we take a trip with the likes of Harrison Ford and Leonardo Dicaprio in THE MOSQUITO COAST and THE BEACH.

Ep. 83 - Wild (Into The Wild vs. 127 Hours)

We got INTO THE WILD for 127 HOURS with Reese Witherspoon but without the proper footwear for the new release WILD. Along the way we flashback to our own tragedies in life: waiting for the wide release of INHERENT VICE, waiting in line for the iPhone 6 Plus, and also being on fire.

Ep. 82 - Two Days, One Night (Office Space vs. Time Out)

On this episode we face unemployment with the help of friends, family and Marion Cotillard's great performance in TWO DAYS, ONE NIGHT. Not content with the support of just one film we also look back to 1999's comedy classic (as certified by the Library of Congress) OFFICE SPACE, and rely on the a scumbag named Vincent who has some decent driving skills in 2001's TIME OUT.

GUEST: Emily Mackay attempts to aid us in our butchering of the French language but to no avail.
